Hi, my name is Lara Klopp and I'm an artist, a teacher, a wife and mom, and a student in the FSU online MSW program. I'm also the BrevardNet coordinator, so if you have any questions about the BrevardNet, would like a t-shirt, or would like to write a guest-blog article on an area of interest for the site, hit me up!
I grew up in California and Virginia, then was a military wife for many years so traveled all over the country. I settled in Virginia for a bit, as my kids grew up, and became a high-school art teacher. Then my husband's job moved us to Florida, and both my kids went off to college.
We've lived in Brevard for 5 years, and love the weather, the manatees, and the amazing variety of birds in the area. I taught art at Merritt Island High School for a few years, before deciding my calling is working to make the world better for LGBTQ adolescents.
I'm really looking forward to getting to know other FSU social workers in the county!
