Commemoration of the Last Naval Battle of the Revolutionary War

Tabling at the event

On March 12, 2022 the Brevard Veterans Center/Veterans Memorial Center hosted a Commemoration of the Last Naval Battle of the American Revolution. Representatives from a number of military and historical organizations including the Sons of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Revolution, Children of the American Revolution, Sea Cadets of Courageous Division, and Naval Operational Training Unit (NOTU) participated.

The ceremony included marching, speeches, songs, a history lesson, and was capped off by a 21-gun salute. The Florida State University College of Social Work was represented by MSW student Lara Klopp, a Brevard County resident. Lara shared information about the social work profession, why the college is an excellent option for those wanting to enter the profession, and the scholarships available especially for Brevard residents along with veterans and their spouses.
