It’s hard for me to believe that I’ve been the Brevard Network Coordinator at FSU College of Social Work for a full year now. It’s cliche to say, but this position has pushed me out of my comfort zone–stretching my creative and technical writing abilities and going to community events even when I don’t know anyone there. 

I’ve gotten the chance to meet so many of my fellow FSU students, alumni, and local social workers, all of us sharing the desire for the well-being of our county and its residents. The passion and care that I have experienced in Brevard warm my heart and make me so proud to say that I’m from the Space Coast. 

The Brevard Network certainly would never have been possible without the support of the Guy M. III & Delores Spearman Foundation or the College of Social Work. Guy and Delores have fostered a unique sense of community here in Brevard, creating a mini FSU College of Social Work hub for online students working on their MSW to be able to network and socialize with other local students.
